Markéta Vacovská

Markéta studied at the HAMU, working and performing with the physical and experimental group Spitfire Theatre Company.

She first discovered Bikram Yoga in Paris in October 2005 and since then has practiced regularly. Due to her profession, her practice of Bikram Yoga is the best way to keep in shape, prepare the body for long-term active functionality, and to learn absolute concentration and determination. Markéta also takes exercise as a daily ritual, giving her energy and mental relaxation.

Right at her first lesson she met Tereza Bonnet, already at that time planned to open a studio in Prague. From January 2005 Markéta worked in the Paris studio as a receptionist, and after completing her Bikram Yoga teacher training, (Autumn 2006, Los Angeles) she also worked as an instructor in Paris. After returning from her studies in Paris in July 2007 Markéta immediately started working as an instructor in the studio in Prague, where she works today.

Favorite Posture
I have many postures I like, but one of the best is obviously savasana. I also like the postures where we stand with locked knees (I have come a long way with these postures), including the Half-Moon and also bending over backwards and forwards (a brilliantly conceived set, overall warming and preparing the body for any other activity).
Least Favorite Posture
Alternately I love and hate the Camel. Definitely my least favorite posture was, is, and probably always will be the Rabbit.
